1. Standard or Solid Drain Tile System
Solid Tile Systems are installed primarily to collect discharged water from the roof of a structure via the gutter and downspout. Solid Tile Systems also function as outlet tiles for: 1) a sump pump system 2) a catch basin used to collect surface water in a low spot on a lawn area or  3) Channel drains used to collect surface water from low spots on driveways, walks or patio areas.

  2. French or Perforated Drainage Tile System
French Drain Systems are primarily installed in order to collect surface and sub-surface water. French Drain Systems are used when there are low spots due to grade problems or when soils in lawn areas cannot take in water from rain events very fast. Also, these perforated tile systems are installed around foundation perimeters to collect subsurface water and direct it into sump pump systems.

  3. Waterproofing Systems & Basement Foundation Repair
Waterproofing systems installed by Terrafirma are designed to prevent water from entering into the basement walls or floor slabs. The process begins by excavating the exterior basement walls, applying a waterproof membrane on the walls, installing a heavy-duty plastic sheet and foam board against the walls, and backfilling with drainage stone. Foundation repairs are needed when the structural conditions of foundations are in jeopardy. Repairs may range from applying a polyurethane foam sealant in a crack, to completely removing and replacing a wall.

  4. Basement Sump Pump Systems & Backup Pump Systems
Submersible pumps or "sump pumps" are installed to collect subsurface water around the perimeter of a foundation. The water is collected in the sump "crock" and directed up and away from the foundation perimeter at the grade surface. Backup or "Watchdog" systems are designed and installed to prevent total pump failure by working in conjunction with the primary sump pump. These backup systems are equipped with alarms that alert the homeowner of a potential problem.

  5. Proper Surface Grading
Having a correct grade or contour on a given property is essential to minimizing water problems. Creating "positive" drainage or sloping away from structures significantly reduces the chances for these potential drainage and waterproofing problems.
